Margaret is Ngāti Kuri, Ngāti Porou and Te Aitanga ā Hauiti. She is a researcher counsellor and education consultant and studied at the University of Auckland where she completed a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree in Counselling and a Doctor of Education degree.
Margaret has worked in the education sector, teaching at both primary and secondary level and at tertiary level as a wānanga lecturer and at university in student recruitment and support. Margaret’s main interest has been Māori success and participation at all levels of education.
