Join us from July 1-3, 2025, at Te Rangi Aniwaniwa, Te Hiku o te Ika for a transformative experience dedicated to the mental health and the wellbeing of Tāne Māori.
It’s time.
After more than a decade, we’re bringing Māori men back together to wānanga, connect, and rebuild the movement. This isn’t about fixing you, it’s about finding strength in the kaupapa, in each other and reminding ourselves who we are.
“We are still losing too many brothers to cultural disconnection, drugs and alcohol, violence, incarceration, depression & suicide. There are many good programmes around Aotearoa, but our networks have frayed, and our connections have been lost. We need to bring good people and good kaupapa back to the table, rebuild the network and re-establish the connections. We need our brothers to know that we care about them, and we will be here for them, hakoa ko wāi hakoa nō hea tū te ao, tū te pō” - Hone Harawira
🗓️ Highlights include:
🔥 Kōrero from Hone Harawira, Mike King, and Dave Letele.
💬 Workshops on the real stuff - violence, addiction, identity, healing.
🎣 Fishing comps, Tāne Olympics, Hakari, and a night to celebrate us.

Silent Insight Awareness Meditation(IAM) 4 Day Retreat
Silent Insight Awareness Meditation(IAM) 4 Day Retreat
25 July 2025 - 28 July 2025
Tushita Mystery School, 1334 Oruru Road, Peria 0482, New Zealand
4 day silent meditation retreat
Led by trained teachers
About Silent Insight Awareness Meditation – Naturally and Simply Observe
Silent Insight Awareness Meditation is a simple, practical and profound practice that encourages us to become the impartial observer of one’s self. This means not trying to stop thoughts and sensations but, rather to observe these thoughts and sensations without interpretations – in other words, without judgements.
We learn to simply to observe what is happening whether it is good or bad, comfortable or uncomfortable, without putting a meaning on it, without imposing a goal or outcome on it.
These retreats are an opportunity wherein the meditator has the space and freedom to allow all his or her feelings and patterns and thoughts to arise and be as they are. This is what it means to harmonise the physical, emotional, mental in and with the spiritual. Nothing is left out.
“If a person wishes to understand spiritual practice, Silent Insight Awareness Meditation is a excellent prerequisite to understand and relax the body and the mind so that Spiritual Practice can commence” – Master Yanchiji
Awaken the Teacher “inside” Meditators will be reminded of this important aspect throughout the retreat. The retreat is to awaken the teacher “inside”. It is to awaken one’s unconditioned intelligence. It is to awaken and feel one’s total humanity. Total humanity meaning one’s warts and all, and to be in peace with every aspect of Self.
Open to All – No Religion or Dogma These retreats are open to all. The meditation is not based on any religion or dogma. The retreats are suitable for people who have not meditated before as well as for experienced meditators. All Silent Insight Awareness Meditation retreats have a registration/administrative cost of $50-$65 plus cash donation/koha for the retreat and all accommodation and meals, to be given at the time of the retreat.
What is the cancellation and refund policy? This is a non-refundable registration/booking charge(except if we cancel the retreat), but may be transferred to another IAM meditation retreat upon request, within same booking year.
